Upcoming Events
I hope everyone has had a great summer! The climate has definitely taken a turn to the Fall, and with that we have many events scheduled for this Season.
The first is San Diego Magazine’s Best of the Best event, which will take place next Friday evening, August 28th, from 6-10pm. The location is the NTC Promenade, Point Loma. This is the second year for this event, and having attended and sponsored a booth last year, I can tell you that this is one party not to be missed! For more info, go to the site listed below.

Speaking about San Diego Magazine…we had a birthday party for Maureen Sullivan, President and Publisher of San Diego Magazine, in our cabanas at Island Prime last Tuesday evening. In attendance were Monique Marvez, morning dj for Jack FM, Tom Blair, editor for San Diego Magazine, Jim Ely, myself, and about 20 of her close friends. It was a great time, and afforded me a chance to meet Jordan, as well as her dog Korbin!
We are looking forward to the Celebration of the Critters event at the San Diego Zoo September 26th. We have participated in this event for 14 years, and it is one of the culinary highlights for San Diegans. Joan Emery is in attendance, and always presents a huge array of interesting animals and education on their natural habitats.
We will be featuring our signature dish, “Skirts on Fire,” and I hope that you will stop by our booth and sample our skirts and say hi!!! For more info on this event, visit the website listed below.

We are very proud to be involved with the Emilio Nares Foundation event, Harvest for Hope, which will be held October 4th this year. The foundation provides financial assistance, emotional support, transportation, respite care, wellness prorams and much more to the families whose children are battling childhood cancer and other life threatening diseases. On October 24th, we will be joining a host of other San Diego restaurants to support the Promises 2 Kids event. The location has not yet been determined, but you can visit the website below for updates.

Finally, the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival is a 5 day wine and food extravaganza, featuring 170 world class wineries and spirit producers, 70 of San Diego’s award winning fine dining restaurants, celebrity chefs, wine dinners….

I feeling a little “tuckered” just listing these events, yet all are for great causes, and I am looking forward to each and every one! I hope you all have the opportunity to spend some quality time outdoors before the summer slips away, and can join us this fall for some of these upcoming events!
